Sale Pending.

Last night I was pulling up the listing for our house (squeal!) and noticed something different. It now says “Sale Pending“! I don’t know why, but it made this whole process seem more real to me. Justin had already seen the “new” listing and being a typical guy didn’t see the big deal. For me, it was exciting!

The past couple weeks we’ve made a couple purchases for the house (that I’ll share later this week), but it didn’t really feel like we were buying it for an actual house. For those of you who’ve been through this process, you know that you’re crazy busy finding the house and getting the mortgage set up, but after that it’s a waiting game. I’m not an incredibly patient person so any progress, even a “for sale” to  ”sale pending” makes me feel like we’re moving forward.

For those of you who have patiently been waiting for me to update this blog, here’s a sneak peek of a couple reasons why we fell in love with this house. I won’t give the full tour until we move in, but here’s our favorite room in the house…

which leads out to this…

It feels like you’re living in a tree house when you’re there. Only a few more weeks now!

What about you guys…any fun projects in the works for Thanksgiving week or are you just planning to stuff yourself silly on Turkey? All I have to say is thank heavens for Pilgrims.

What a gorgeous room – love the open ceiling!! We’ll be spending Thanksgiving moving all our stuff into our new house. We cleaned carpets, swept out the garage, and lined shelves in the kitchen this past weekend, readying everything for furniture and things.

We squealed a little bit too when we saw the “sale pending” update on our listing too :) Here’s a tip though – if you want one of those pictures of the two of you next to a SOLD sign outside your house, go take it now (even though the sign probably doesn’t say sold. We wanted a picture like that, but by the time we closed on the house and got the keys, they had removed the sign completely. So go take one now, while the sign is still there and just photoshop a SOLD on it :)

Long story… we bought a foreclosure and when we moved in the carpet was pretty bad, but we thought we could get it cleaned and live with it for awhile. Then we got Sadie (our dog) who was supposed to be potty trained. It turns out she wasn’t really. Therefore, our carpet has only gotten to the point of being totally yucky. We figured we should do hard surfaces throughout the living areas downstairs, because if she keeps having accidents the carpet will just be ruined all over again (plus we like wood flooring). We decided not to do real wood because of the dog and her nails. We found this laminate at Sam’s Club (I know it sounds crazy), but it actually is an amazing deal! The comparable flooring we found at other places was 3x the price! It’s beautiful and cheap! I will post some pictures on my blog soon so you can see it! Definitely a good thing to know if it turns out well if your customers are interested in getting new flooring.
